Treasurer’s
Report
Melissa Fulton repor=
ted
that she was asked by Courtney Arthur to issue a check for $2468 to 1s=
t
Stop Travel, for the remainder of the map bill, during the Executive Commit=
tee
meeting. The Library fund has $768.76 left in the Summit PTO
account. Kim Letner has a deposit to=
make
for $268. She is out of town and will make the deposit when she
returns.
Melissa Fulton looked
over last year’s reports and noted that we spent about $1500 and made
$1500 on the Spring Carnival. This year’s Carnival is going to =
be
held Friday, May 5th, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. It was discussed
that maybe future Carnivals could be switched to a Saturday, from 4:00 pm to
7:00 pm, to accommodate the additional parents and students at
Toni Ladow
thought that she would be able to get Kroger or a bread company to donate h=
ot
dogs buns and possibly Frito-Lay to donate chips. PTO should still ha=
ve
some hot dogs left in the freezer from the Open House. Toni also noted
that Coca-Cola gives one free donation per school per year and one at half
price.
Melissa Fulton noted
that the prizes are the big expense and in the past, have been purchased fr=
om
Oriental Trading Company. The games have all been made or borrowed ex=
cept
for the Moon Walk which has cost between $140-$180 to r=
ent.
However, last year a Dunk Tank was rented for Broadview's last carnival and=
it
cost $150. In addition, Tim Fulton was able to secure a

The Cake Walk typica=
lly
involves cakes donated from Kroger or Marsh. Toni Ladow
noted that Kroger may not be able to donate these as in the past, due to
liability issues. She will check if we can get the day-old baked
goods. Parents typically donate 2-liters of pop for the Ring toss
games. Heather Rhodes suggested that teachers sign up for which games
they wish their classroom to sponsor and recruit their parents to run that =
game
for the evening.
Courtney Arthur asked
Susan Schlegel if she would be interested in calling for donations for the
Carnival Raffle. Susan accepted and Courtney will give her a
past “Donations List” to work from. It was noted that sev=
eral
companies make their decisions within the next month or two of which schools
they will donate to. Courtney Arthur will be the Chairperson for the
Spring Carnival, but welcomes anyone interested in helping to contact
her.

Kroger
Easy Certificates Fundraiser
We have sold $160.00 worth of the

T-Shirts and Kroger Gift Certificates.&nbs=

secure a table. Jennifer Syrek will publish a January PTO Newsletter advertisi=

mailboxes Friday afternoon, January 13.
Staffing
Issues at
Susan Schlegel (reporting on beh=

It was noted that the next School Board meeting is Tuesday, February=
7th
and that we should have a presence there.&=
